The EcoCentre and City of Port Phillip are joining again to put on the 7th Annual Elwood Poetry Prize with a theme of "Beach".

Why not go down to one of our beautiful local beaches and gain inspiration for poems examining environmental issues or celebrating nature, to do with the beach.

If you are a resident or student of the City of Port Phillip and you have an original poetic work in English which has not won another competition you can submit up to 3 poems for a chance to win! The 4 Categories include Haikus (17 syllables), Limericks, Illustrative Poems, and Other Poems.

Win prizes for each category, the most touching expression of an environmental issue, the best primary school poem, the best secondary school poem, and the best entry by a community group. Thanks to Elwood Bendigo Community Bank and the Grumpy Swimmer bookshop for the prizes.

School prizes will be awarded at the Sustainable Schools Festival on Friday 9 September at St Kilda Town Hall. Community Prizes will be awarded at a poetry reading on Saturday 17 September at 2pm at the EcoCentre.

Entries are open until Thursday 11 August 2016.

Download your entry form here and email it with your poem/s to info@ecocentre.com or post it to Port Phillip EcoCentre, 55A Blessington Street ST KILDA 3182.
